Depending on your wishes and options you have a few choices for evacuating the urine; connect it to the greywater system, to a leaching bed/soak away or to a tank. When the urine, which accounts for about 85% of the volume, is removed the storage capacity increases greatly. The solid waste, faeces and toilet paper, are routed into the container inside the toilet. The container is replaceable. Normal use by a family of four requires the container to be changed only every 3-6 weeks (Separett Villa), giving the toilet virtually unlimited capacity.

 

The remainder, dried solids and toilet paper, is easily lifted out and stored outdoors for 6 months inside the container. This process inactivates human pathogens, so that it can harmlessly be composted or buried, in order to decompose fully. The end product is an organic fertilizer in your flower garden.
